The Investigation on the Flow Distortion Effect of Header to Guarantee the Measurement Accuracy of the Ultrasonic Gas Flowmeter

The quantification of the flow distortion effect on measurement accuracy ultrasonic gas flowmeter downstream header is important but an area that has been less concern in research. By experiments and computational fluid dynamics (CFD), influence field was studied. Experimental results under three different installation conditions showed when there header, were 1% higher than those no distortion, while a conditioner could effectively eliminate distortion. Based experimental tests, distribution analyzed with CFD, which generated by had significant parameter nonconforming Profile factor, parameters Symmetry Cross-flow be obviously eliminated double-cross-section designing.
